An ENERGY STAR® Certified Home

An ENERGY STAR® Certified Home
Building with EPS Structurally Insulated Panels creates a solution that benefits the environment and your wallet. When paired with ENERGY STAR Certified equipment, appliances, and fixtures, an EPS ENERGY STAR home package combines building science with high performance products to create new homes that are environmentally friendly by lowering overall household energy consumption and emissions.

ENERGY STAR certified new homes are designed and built to standards well above most other homes on the market today, delivering energy efficiency savings of up to 30 percent when compared to typical new homes. A new home that has earned the ENERGY STAR label has undergone a process of inspections, testing, and verification to meet strict requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), delivering better quality, better comfort, and better durability.

  • Government-backed label
  • At least 15-20% more efficient than a conventional-built home
  • Third-party verified
  • Whole-home performance
You can tell it’s ENERGY STAR by looking for the ENERGY STAR label located on the circuit breaker box. An ENERGY STAR qualified home will also receive a certificate showing the home energy rating (HERS). The lower a home’s HERS Index, the more energy efficient it is.
